Summmary of lispvan September 2005 meeting

Saturday, September 24, 2005

Another good turnout for our September Vancouver Lisp Users Group meeting. Along with some of the regulars from previous meetings (Drew Crampsie, Kevin Griffin, James Wright, Pietro Campesato and myself), there were a number of new faces:

Kevin Griffin gave a presentation on the use of CL-PDF and CL-TYPESETTING at our meeting. I had planned to make a movie of the presentation; but, due to some problems with Kevin's machine and VNC, I wasn't able to capture his presentation. However, I was able to test out some sound and compression suggestions that had been passed on to me by others and I am pleased with the quality and size of the test movie (reasonable sound quality despite the noisy pub environment). This bodes well for our capturing future presentations and sharing them on the web - many thanks to Matt Jadud, Marco Baringer, and others who provided helpful suggestions.
