Vancouver Lisp Users Group meeting for July
Sunday, July 17, 2005
Well, this is to announce the inaugural meeting of "lispvan", the
Vancouver Lisp Users Group. A summary of meetings will be posted on
the
lispvan page which is accessible from the
Local Lisp User Groups page of the
*hyper-cliki*. Meeting announcements will also be posted to
comp.lang.lisp,
comp.lang.scheme, and this weblog. Here's what's happening for
meeting #1:
Topic: Lisp-on-Lines
Presenter: Drew Crampsie
Date: Thursday, July 21, 2005
Time: 7pm - 10pm (or whenever)
Venue:
Tobys Pub and Grill (see
map)
Summary: Drew Crampsie will give a demo of his Lisp-on-Lines
web application framework. It is built on top of
CLSQL and
UCW (two
popular CL packages for relational database connectivity and web application
development respectively) and provides an application development
model similar in many ways to
Ruby on Rails.
In addition to Drew's presentation, the meeting will be a general
"getting-to-know-you" session with brainstorming about potential
future meeting topics. Undoubtedly, a pint or two of beer will also be
consumed in the process. ;-)
Mark your calendars and we'll see you this Thursday!
