UK Lisping Plans
Thursday, February 17, 2005
Ok, this will be my last blog entry for the next few weeks as I'll be in the UK doing some contract work and without access to my weblog software. However, I'll be meeting up with some other Lispers during my free time and will report on happenings in my weblog once I get back. Here are the current plans:
- Weekend of February 25: Trip to Amsterdam to hang out with Arthur Lemmens, Edi Weitz, Jans Aasman, Pascal Costanza and Tayssir John Gabbour. Luke Gorrie may also be showing up. Luke said something about "mushrooms" - presumably he's an omelet enthusiast or something. ;-)
- Evening of March 2: Attending the UK Lispers/Schemers meeting. Looks like a good one with a talk by John Koza. I've really enjoyed reading John Koza's Genetic Programming books (and wrote a weblog posting on genetic programming a while back), so I'm really looking forward to hearing his talk.
- Weekend of March 5: Plan to have some drinks with Lispers in London somewhere. Matt Jadud will be there. Some others are talking about coming too, but location and time are yet to be determined. Let me know if you're interested in coming and I'll let you know when/where it's happening.
Update-2005-02-18: Just about to head out to the airport, but here's a last minute update: Looks like Patrick Collison and Christophe Rhodes will also be attending the March 5 session. This just keeps getting better and better! Also, Noel Welsh emailed me that it is not the "Genetic Programming" John Koza who is talking at the March 2 meeting, it is John Kozak. Here's his web page. Sounds interesting too! I'll be monitoring my bill_clementson@yahoo.com email address (although on a sporadic basis) over the next 3 weeks if you need to contact me.
