Lisp .Net

The first news about the
Amsterdam Lisp User group meeting is starting to filter through.
Edi Weitz was supposed to talk about "mod_lisp and TBNL (or maybe
something else)" - apparently he talked about "something else"! :-)
Edi did a
presentation on RDNZL (Raw DotNet Zupport for Lisp). Why did Edi
go over to the Dark Side? Aside from the learning experience, he
wanted to be able to access
.Net libraries and use native .Net GUI
capabilities. RDNZL is still in an experimental stage; however, he
apparently has the basic stuff working using LispWorks FLI and
MOP. There will (hopefully) be a public release in November. As prior
art, Edi lists Pedro Pinto's
dot-scheme and Rich Hickey's
JFLI.
Damn, I wish I had gone to Amsterdam! Hope Tayssir John Gabbour
captured the sessions on video.
Update: In addition to the
Powerpoint version of the presentation, Edi has also posted
MS-generated HTML and a
zip file with a bunch of PNG's for those of you who can't view ppt's.
