Back from Multi-Paradigm Vacation
Wednesday, March 31, 2004
I've
previously commented on how Lisp is a multi-paradigm programming language. Well, I've just returned from a multi-paradigm vacation - 10
days in the Caribbean with 3 days wandering around the
narrow streets of lovely old
San Juan, 3 days camping on the beach in the
British Virgin Islands and 3 days sailing around the BVI. Great
vacation!
I haven't caught up on things yet; however, it looks like the Lisp
scene has been as busy as ever while I've been away. Here are a few
of the things that I've bookmarked to read more about when I get the
time:
- Luke Gorrie has created a manual for SLIME.
- John Wiseman's lemonodor makes some interesting observations about an O'Reilly article on " Lisp and Java".
- The book Common Lisp: An Interactive Approach is available online.
- An alternative CL Prevalence system is listed on CLiki.
- Chris Double has been doing some interesting things with Sisc Scheme, sending continuations across the network ( here and here) and serializing object structures.
- Mark Watson is also playing around with Sisc Scheme and continuation-based web apps.
