Chris Double's Scheme Web Framework
Thursday, September 4, 2003
Chris Double is making more progress with his SISC Scheme continuation based web framework (initially described here). In his latest post, he talks about how he is serializing continuations out to disk, providing him with a mechanism for recovering state information if the web server goes down. He says:
"I had to do a bit of work to ensure that non-serializable stuff didn't appear in the continuation but it works quite well. The size of the continuation depends on the state stored but a series of small examples produces an average of about 12Kb on disk each."That's pretty good (and a reasonable size for session state information) - it'd be interesting to see what he had to do to separate out the "non-serializable stuff".
